We have all been following the eruptions of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano under the glacier in Southern Iceland and the resulting clouds of ash sweeping over much of Europe. The threat of volcanic ash seizing jet engines has already grounded tens of thousands of flights and affected millions of travelers. Some have sought other forms of transportation, many feel trapped until flights resume, and many millions of others have been unable to make planned trips into the area.
While this is clearly a physical catastrophe, the impact of this volcanic eruption has many characteristics that might be considered similar to a cyber attack.
