CNN broadcast (and rebroadcast, and rebroadcast …) a desktop exercise conducted in Washington DC on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the Bipartisan Policy Center. In this simulation exercise, the cell phone networks are brought down by a virulent virus, electrical power grids in the Eastern side of the country black out following explosions, financial markets are brought to a halt as the Internet slows to a crawl, and so on.
