Let’s think about what might be if, as predicted, machines are developed that exceed the ability of the human brain (mind?). Certainly computers have been more adept than humans at mathematical calculations since inception. What these guys (and we are talking the leading experts in the field) have in mind appears, to my mind, to be the creation of a mind. That is, they want to educate the World about machines that are more intelligent and have a greater reasoning ability than humans.

We all remember Hal, the super-advanced computer in Stanley Kubrick’s movie 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was released in 1968. Hal was very smart. “He” (Hal spoke with a soothing male voice) could even lip read. However, Hal got into his mind to murder the astronauts on the space ship and take over. The sole surviving astronaut could only stop Hal by disconnecting “his” circuits.
