At FAU, it is reported that Abagnale said that:
”Fraud has just gotten easier,” he said. “I never in my life saw a simpler crime.”
To which end user Steve Meyer of Boca Raton replied:
”It’s unbelievable,” he said. “I’m afraid that everything about me is available. It’s scary.”
And Dee Robinson, an FAU associate vice president, said:
“I was surprised at how easy it is and how anybody can get anything about you,” Robinson said, “especially with the Internet.”
Abagnale did give some advice:

Most people don’t want to admit how easy things are such as fraud or identity theft. But as much as some people may be surprised and express FUD about it, until action occurs in response (buying a shredder, being cognizant about pitched mail, etc), it is all for show.
