Airport Security: US vs. UK

From my recent travels, I noticed that the emphasis on “customer security experience” was different in the US and the UK.

In the US, the TSA posts signs guarantee that traveler’s rights and freedoms will be respected. (If anyone has an image of these airport signs, please send one to me.)

In the UK, the rights of the airport employees are those that are guaranteed. Here is an image of the “assaults on staff” bulletin in the airport including the staff’s “rights to their own security.”

I did not see signs regarding traveler’s rights in the UK; conversely, I did not see airport employee rights in the US.

In the US, the focus on security experience is customer centric and the UK it’s worker centric.

I wonder if the UK airlines are as financially embattled as the US ones? Just musing about the possible reasons for that difference…they both kinda make sense in a way I can’t quite express at the moment. Are we a bit more “mememe?” Maybe this is a relation to our justice system?

    Awesome observation, by the way!
